Why is there air leakage at the connections?

Check that the fittings are correctly seated and tightened, and inspect any seals or O-rings used by the connection. If a threaded fitting requires thread sealant, use only a suitable sealing method for that fitting rather than automatically applying PTFE tape to every connection.
