Why paint does not respond smoothly to trigger movement

Check that the needle chucking nut is secure and that the needle moves smoothly with the trigger. Dried paint on the needle, excessive packing resistance, a partially clogged nozzle, or paint that is too thick can also make paint response delayed or inconsistent.
