Assembling The Mobius SP

Once dry, let’s reassemble the powerhouse.

First, screw in the air valve and the needle packing guide, then insert the main lever. Insert the needle chucking guide—make sure the plate is at the correct angle to ensure smooth, linear movement. Insert the spring and screw in the spring sleeve.

Insert the needle from the front to the back. Place your chosen nozzle (0.3mm or 0.5mm) in, then secure the nozzle cap and air cap. Gently push the needle forward from the back until it seats—do not force it, as the 0.3mm setup is highly delicate. Secure the needle chucking nut, attach the handle, and you’re ready to go.

Disassembling The Mobius SP

For maintenance, a full disassembly is vital to prevent clogs in the siphon-feed channel.

Start by unscrewing the anodized aluminum handle. Loosen the needle chucking nut to release the needle. Pull the needle out slightly, then unscrew the air cap and nozzle cap to retrieve the nozzle.

Crucial Step: Once the nozzle is removed, push the needle back in and remove it from the front of the airbrush. This prevents the needle tip from bumping into internal parts and stops you from dragging paint residue from the siphon entry into the rear spring housing.

Unscrew the spring sleeve and remove the spring, needle chucking guide, and adjustment knob. Remove the thickened main lever and the angled air valve. Use the specialized tool to remove the needle packing guide. If you are soaking components, ensure all rubber o-rings are removed to prevent corrosion or damage.
