Getting Started: Tools and Setup
Before we start, let’s make sure we’ve got everything we need.
Airbrush: Mobius 0.3mm
Paint: We’ll be using K305 Lustrous Orange as our main color.
Compressor: we’ll be using the TurboX Mini (compact and powerful)
Safety Gear: Make sure to have some tissues to clean up, gloves to keep everything neat, and a mask to avoid inhaling any dust and particles.
Workspace: Spray booth or well-ventilated area
While Kaleido ColorWorks is non-toxic, it’s always best to be cautious.
Prepare Your Paint
Before you begin airbrushing, make sure to shake your paint thoroughly for 3-5 minutes. You’ll notice the ceramic mixing ball inside helps agitate the pigments to keep everything mixed. Once that’s done, pour the paint into the airbrush cup.
SETTING THE PRESSURE

Recommended for a 0.3mm airbrush: around 15 psi
Fine details: you may use lower pressure. You can also add KaleidoColorWorks retarder thinner to improve flow and prevent tip drying, recommended ratio 1:2 (Paint: Thinner)
Normal spraying: 15–30 psi
Larger surfaces/ Larger nozzle sizes: higher pressure
The ideal air pressure may vary depending on what you’re working on, and should be adjusted accordingly. We suggest doing a quick test on a piece of scrap plastic spoon or an old model part to make sure everything’s working smoothly.
Start Spraying
Hold the airbrush around 10-15 cm away from the surface, and start with a light first coat.
Apply a light first coat to help the paint adhere.
Let it sit 5–10 seconds, then apply a second coat.
You can repeat this process a couple of times, but for best results, keep it to 2-3 layers.

This method is easy but it takes time to master, so keep practicing! This method can also be used for our primers, and varnishes.
Pro Tips:
• Light and slow spraying (dry coat): results in a matte finish
• Heavy and quick spraying (wet coat): achieves a glossy finish
Clean Your Airbrush

Cleaning is crucial to keep your airbrush in top shape. Always clean your airbrush after every use. Leftover paint can clog your airbrush, cause uneven spray patterns, and damage the internal parts over time.
Pour out or Spray out leftover paint from the cup.
Add airbrush cleaner to the cup
Block the tip of the cap and trigger the lever(back bubble) to loosen internal residue.
Flush it by spraying out the cleaner and move the lever back and forth for a few times while you’re flushing it.
Repeat the process until it runs clear.
You can pour out the excessive cleaner after back bubbling and spray the rest of the cleaner to clean the needle and nozzle to speed up the process.
Pro tip: When you’re airbrushing multiple colors, always work from light to dark colors. This reduces the need for cleaning in between and makes the process quicker!
