Aventus 0.2 & 0.4mm Airbrush Complete Guide

In this guide, we’re going to take a complete and in-depth look at the Aventus airbrush.
We’ll cover how it’s built, how to safely clean it, how to disassemble and reassemble it for deep cleaning, and some of the common mistakes you might make, so make sure you watch until the end.

If you’ve just received your Aventus, or if you’ve already been using it and want to truly understand what makes it different, this guide is designed to give you clarity and confidence.

Before we begin, here’s a quick look at what an Aventus airbrush box should look like and its contents. The standard Aventus comes with both needle nozzle sizes. The 0.2mm is installed, while the 0.4mm needle and nozzle set is stored securely in their own casings. It also comes with 2 air caps (a 360 quick-fit air cap and a wide round air cap). You’ll also find 1/10oz and 1/5oz Ultra Mirror Level Gravity Fluid Cups, and lastly, a quick disconnect male fitting.

With that said, let’s begin.

Section Title: How To Clean The Aventus?

We recommend cleaning the airbrush every time you switch colors, or when you have finished using it. Dried, cured paint is damaging to an airbrush, so it is vital to not skip this step.

To clean the Aventus, start by pouring out any excess paint left in the fluid cup. Then pour in the correct airbrush cleaner.

Next, block the air from coming out of the nozzle. You can achieve this by covering the air cap using the provided rubber cap, pinching the 0.2mm fine line air cap with your index finger and thumb, or using a piece of tissue with your index finger to block the wide air cap. Then slowly press and pull back the main lever to start the reverse flow process.

This process agitates and dissolves the paint stuck inside your airbrush. You should see your clear airbrush cleaner now stained with your leftover colors. Do this for around 10 seconds, then pour or spray the airbrush cleaner out. Repeat until the cleaner is completely clear.

Section Title: Disassembling The Aventus

For deep cleaning the Aventus, we recommend disassembling the entire airbrush.

Start by unscrewing the airbrush handle, then loosen the needle chucking nut to release the needle. Next, pull the needle out slightly, then unscrew both the air cap and nozzle cap to retrieve the nozzle inside.

Once the nozzle is removed, push the needle back in again and remove it from the front of the airbrush. You can pull the needle from the back, however, doing so might stain the back part of your airbrush with paint, which is much harder to clean. 

Note: The needle is extremely sharp; handle it with care.

Once the needle is out, unscrew the spring sleeve, then proceed to take out the inside components: the spring, the needle chucking guide, the adjustment knob, and the needle chucking nut. Remove the main lever from the body, unscrew the gravity fluid cup and the air valve, and you’re done. Finally, using a specialized tool, remove the needle packing guide.

We recommend using an ultrasonic cleaner with airbrush cleaning solutions. 
Crucial: Make sure you have removed the rubber o-rings before soaking, as they can be damaged by the cleaner over time.

Section Title: Assembling The Aventus

Once dry, let’s start the assembly.

First, screw in the air valve and the needle packing guide, then insert the trigger. Next, insert the needle chucking guide back in. This is a crucial step: You have to make sure that your needle chucking guide plate is at the correct angle. Then, insert the spring, and screw in the spring sleeve and the adjustment knob.

Next, insert the needle from the front of the airbrush all the way to the back. Place the nozzle in, then screw back the nozzle cap and the air cap.

Now, push the needle to the front of the airbrush from the back. Use the correct strength; once the needle is in position, there shouldn’t be any travel margins. Do not force it in, as you might damage the needle and the nozzle. Secure it by tightening the needle chucking nut, put back the handle, and you’re done.

Section Title: Common Mistakes

1. Overtightening the nozzle cap: This can cause irreparable damage to your needle nozzle. Forcing the needle in from the back may also bend the tip.

2. Over-tightening the spring sleeve: This might strip the aluminium grooves and leave residue in your airbrush, killing its performance.

3. Stuck Main Lever: If your trigger is stuck, the needle chucking guide plate is likely at the wrong angle. You’ll need to disassemble and re-insert it correctly.

4. Excessive Air Pressure: Using too much PSI causes overspray and inconsistency. We recommend 10–15 PSI for fine details and 15–30 PSI for general airbrushing.

5. Skipping Regular Cleaning: If you don't clean it after use, you'll lose responsiveness and performance quickly.
